Couple's Mediation

Preventative Mediation for Couples

Mediation is not just for those who are breaking up.  Sure, it can be a useful process for couples going through a divorce, negotiating property or financial disputes, or for those with children.  What people are learning more and more, however, is that mediation can also be a useful tool -- and a successful alternative to therapy -- for couples trying to stay together.

Married, never-married, and LGBTQ/same-sex couples seeking assistance with communication, relationship expectations, decision-making, or any other relationship and life-issues may find mediation more suited to their particular needs.

Mediation through Noah Mediation Services would provide a practical approach to resolving your relationship conflicts while simultaneously assisting you in establishing a framework for the prevention of future conflict.  Preventative Mediation for couples differs from therapy in that the emphasis of sessions is on shifting the practical elements of relationship dynamics (rather than on emotions) while focusing on the present day and future.  Couples mediation is also intended as a short-term means of conflict resolution.

Couples may consider mediation instead of therapy or in conjunction with therapy.   If you have been suggesting counseling or therapy to a reluctant partner, proposing mediation as an alternative may be a solution that works well for everyone.

If you or your significant other suffers from severe mental illness and/or substance abuse issues, Noah Mediation Services will encourage and/or require you to seek the assistance of therapeutic services simultaneous to mediation.
